In July 2011 Chatham High School just hosted another highly successful Careers Expo. In fact exhibitors who tour the State have rated our Expo as the best Careers Expo in the State. They raved about the quality of food supplied by our Year 11 Hospitality students. Teachers, Julie Amidy and Darren Williams and their students deserve special praise for their excellence in catering. The food was so good that the consultant from The International College of Management, where MasterChef is filmed described the food as being definitely of MasterChef standard.
Representatives were very impressed by the quality of questions asked by our students.
The Expo features a balanced mixture of 61 representatives from Universities, Private Colleges, TAFE and various job fields.
Over 1000 students from all local schools attended. It was also very pleasing to see so many parents make the most of the opportunity to access career and training information.
New exhibitors this year included Newcastle Permanent Building Society, National Australia Bank and Sorenson and Caldron Builders.
This Expo was our best yet. Students seemed to really enjoy the event as well as utilise the valuable information and advice available.
