‘Check In’ and Pulse
Since the beginning of 2021 Chatham High School has started each day with a wellbeing initiative called ‘Check In’. Check In is a 20 minute lesson that aims to build on strengthening relationships and supporting student wellbeing. During this lesson staff and students work though a range of lessons and activities to support the social, emotional and educational wellbeing of students.
PULSE is a new tool that is being used across the state in many schools to add to the Check In experience and will start at Chatham High in Term 4. It is a tool for measuring the week-to-week wellbeing and engagement of our students.
Once a week, students will be prompted by email to complete a Check In through PULSE which consists of 5-6 questions and can generally be completed under 5 minutes. Depending on how the student is feeling and responds to the questions, the school can then provide support if requested through our wellbeing team at Chatham High.
